Vanessa Paradis and Lily-Rose Depp Share a Chic Mother-Daughter Moment at Chanel
When Vanessa Paradis celebrated her marriage to director Samuel Benchetrit over the weekend, her children Lily-Rose and Jack Depp were right by her side. The bohemian wedding in Saint-Siméon was quintessentially French, but the newlywed Paradis didn’t jet off to her honeymoon. Instead, with the Paris couture collections in full swing, she and her brood headed straight to Chanel. Joining the crowd at the Grand Palais this morning, Paradis and Lily-Rose arrived arm-in-arm in complementary looks that showcased the cross-generational appeal of Karl Lagerfeld’s designs.
Paradis chose an understated T-shirt and ruffled patterned skirt from the Resort 2019 show. Pale coral with a graphic cube and starburst print, the piece made a statement but didn’t overwhelm the outfit. When worn with a thin black belt, oversize aviator shades, and lengthy logo-covered necklaces, the look exemplified the star’s love of simple but elegant fashion.
Though Lily-Rose also embraced simplicity, she did so in a manner completely different from her mother. In prim polka dot separates from the same collection, she went for a retro take on glamour. Cap sleeves, padded hips, and dots may all be throwbacks from another era, but Lily-Rose’s flash of midriff ensured that the look remained modern.
Maintaining their individuality while subtly coordinating, the mother-daughter duo looked flawless as they posed together with fellow Chanel lovers like Pharrell Williams and Penélope Cruz before settling in to watch this morning’s show. Given their status as longtime Chanel ambassadors, it’s only a matter of time before both step out in something from couture. If their latest looks are any indication, it’s sure to be interesting.
