Adriana Lima Turns the Brazil Soccer Jersey Into a Couture Fashion Week Statement
Couture Fashion Week hasn’t stopped Adriana Lima from tuning into today’s World Cup match between Brazil and Mexico. In fact, the Brazilian supermodel went so far as to pay homage to her country’s team after walking the Schiaparelli show in Paris, stepping out in a tiered lace skirt, a pair of bejeweled black heels, and the Brazilian soccer team’s jersey. The bright canary yellow hue and green collar added a nonchalant high-low vibe to Lima’s elevated post-runway garb. Lima’s #10 jersey specifically shouted out the beloved player Neymar, who currently wears the number for Brazil. Fun fact: The number was previously worn by revered players like Pelé and Ronaldinho.
Soccer garb has been having quite the moment as of late. Nigeria’s soccer jersey sold out with more than 3 million pre-orders. As for Lima’s jersey? That’s still available on Nike.com for $90. Getting a model-approved couture look—as well as some hometown pride—has never been easier.
